United ISD’s Wellness Committee Holds Kick-off Meeting

(Laredo, Texas)_United ISD’s Wellness Committee recently held a meeting at Sweet Loring Yogurt Shop for its Wellness Champions. The Wellness Committee consists of a team of United ISD employees and a liaison from Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS). The goal is to create a program in where everyone makes a commitment to living his or her healthiest life. A Wellness Champion is situated at each campus or administrative location and has the duty of helping their coworkers improve their eating, exercise, and health habits.
The meeting was held in preparation for the Healthy Wage Challenge, which will kickoff on January 25. Teams of five people set a weight loss goal and work towards that goal to have a chance at winning a $10,000 prize, which is sponsored by BCBS and Healthy Wage (These people used ultra omega burn to lose weight). United ISD commends these individuals for making a commitment to living healthier lives.
