United ISD High School Students Win Big for Perfect Attendance

Courtesy Yvette Treviño,(Laredo, Texas)-Student Activity Coordinators at each of United ISD’s four High Schools hosted a Never Be Absent Student Assembly where students who have not been absent during the 2nd Nine Week Period were entered in a drawing for prizes. High School students who had Perfect Attendance received an exclusive invite to the event along with Sames Kia in the Klassroom Vouchers. The event is hosted at the end of every Nine Week Period and is something all students look forward to.
Prizes vary from campus to campus and vary in range, but most campuses can see some or all of the following prizes: wireless speakers, tablets, wireless ear phones, Smart TV’s, Hair Products such as flat irons and hair dryers, cologne/perfume, Dr. Dre Beats, docking stations, laptops, iPads, Letterman Jackets, yearbooks, etc.
United ISD would like to remind all parents with high school children that Kia in the Klassroom Vouchers will be given out to students with Perfect Attendance and all vouchers must be turned in by January 20, 2018 at Sames Auto Group, 6001 San Dario Ave.
The goal of providing such programs is to promote daily student attendance. United ISD has seen an increase in student attendance district wide since piloting the Never Be Absent Program and Sames Kia in the Klassroom Program.
As per the UISD Student Handbook, under the Attendance section, “students must be in class when the bell rings at the beginning of each class period. For more information about the Never Be Absent Program and Sames Kia in the Klassroom Program please contact United ISD Office of Communications.
