(Laredo, Texas)-John B. Alexander High School bassoonist KiHoon Rim took 1st chair as an All State Musician during the Texas Music Educator’s Association Area G Contest on January 13, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas. This accomplishment marks the second time that KiHoon Rim has earned the recognition at the state level!
On February 17, 2018, KiHoon Rim will travel to San Antonio,Texas to perform alongside the state’s best high school musicians at the annual Texas Music Educator’s Association Convention Concerts, which will be held at the Lila Cockrell Theatre. The Alexander Bulldog family congratulates KiHoon on his accomplishments and wishes him the best at his upcoming performance.
A group of twenty John B. Alexander High School (AHS), musicians participated at the Area G Contest. The students competed against some of the best high school musicians from cities such as Del Rio,Victoria and Brownsville. The students were ranked by a blind panel of judges.
The A.H.S.Band is directed by Mr. Joshua A. Martinez, Mr. Ricardo Fuentes, Ms. Diana Gonzalez, and Mr. Jacob Thompson.
