(Laredo, Texas)-We’ve been seeing all week how people across the state and country have been pitching in to help out those affected by the catastrophic flooding in Houston, Texas and surrounding areas.
Trautmann elementary students decided that they too wanted to help their fellow Texans with a campus-wide food and supply drive. Principal Zaida Gonzalez and staff organized the effort, and students went on to collect abundant amounts of bottled water, food, clothing and pet supplies along with monetary donations totaling $2,780.18.
That total was raised by means of $1, 390.09 in personal donations and a matching dollar for dollar donation of $1000.00 from the Wal-Mart store located at Loop 20 and International Blvd.
