CBP to Temporarily Halt Vehicular Traffic at the Lincoln-Juarez International Bridge During 16th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony to Honor the 9/11 Attack Victims

Colombia-Solidarity Bridge to Serve as Alternate Vehicle Crossing Location

 Laredo, Texas U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Laredo Port of Entry would like to advise the traveling public of the temporary stoppage of vehicular traffic at Lincoln-Juarez Bridge the morning of Sep. 11, during the 16th annual commemoration ceremony to honor the 9/11 attack victims and the availability of alternate crossing locations.

 “We want to remind the traveling public that CBP will make necessary adjustments to ensure safe and efficient continuity of operations and traffic flow during the temporary stoppage of Lincoln-Juarez Bridge vehicular traffic during the commemoration ceremony by making alternate crossing locations available,” said Port Director Gregory Alvarez, Laredo Port of Entry.  

 On Monday, September 11, 2017 at approximately 7:15 a.m., CBP, in collaboration with the City of Laredo and the government of Mexico, will temporarily halt all vehicular and commercial bus traffic at Lincoln-Juarez Bridge in order to host the 9/11 ceremony. Vehicular traffic is expected to resume at 8 a.m. CBP encourages the traveling public to make any and all necessary arrangements to cross prior to 7 a.m. if they are planning to utilize the Lincoln-Juarez international bridge that morning.

 CBP reminds the traveling public that pedestrian processing at the Gateway to the Americas International Bridge and the Colombia-Solidarity Bridge will be available during the 9/11 ceremony. The Gateway to the Americas Bridge will have all eight pedestrian processing booths, bicycle lane and the SENTRI pedestrian booth available and the Colombia-Solidarity Bridge in collaboration with the government of Mexico will make arrangements to commence operations at 6 a.m. to accommodate vehicular and commercial bus processing.
