Webb County Sheriff Deputy arrests speeding driver

Laredo, TX (Webb County) – A Laredo man remains without bond at the Webb County Jail after a Sheriff Deputy spotted him driving twice the legal speed limit.
A W.C.S.O. sergeant patrolling on Cuatro Vientos Boulevard attempted to stop a Dodge Charger driven by Rolando Gamez, 18, after he was clocked driving at 120 miles per hour in a 60 mph zone. When authorities attempted to pull him over, he sped up, fleeing from the area. He was located shortly after near the intersection of Socrates Lane and Sunshine Drive.
“This driver not only put himself in danger but other motorists with whom he shares the road,” said Sheriff Martin Cuellar. “Cuatro Vientos is a road with a lot of traffic, motorists are reminded to please obey all traffic laws.”
Gamez, from the 900 block of Comanche Loop, faces charges for Reckless Driving and Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle.
