United ISD Announces Online Student Registration For Upcoming School Year

(Laredo, Texas)-United ISD administrators announced that current students who will be returning to the District for the 2016-17 school year can now be registered online through the Tyler Parent Portal by their parent/guardian. A parent/guardian of a current student must have a valid email account to access to the Tyler Parent Portal in order to view, enter and submit registration forms electronically. Online registration begins Monday, April 4, 2016.
Parents/guardians are reminded that they need to complete and submit their child’s registration online in order for their child to receive their class schedule or teacher assignment. Any parent/guardian who needs assistance requesting a personal email account or a Tyler Parent Portal account should contact their child’s respective campus registrar.
“This will facilitate the endless paperwork and provide parents with a convenient way to fill out the required forms,” said United ISD Superintendent Roberto J. Santos. “Online registration has streamlined the process because it allows school personnel to review and approve information without having to decipher handwriting, make and collect copies. School personnel can also track forms that have been submitted and remind those parents/guardians who have not completed their forms,” Santos added.
The Tyler Parent Portal online registration process is available to parents/guardians in English or Spanish and they can also register multiple students/children at one time, whether they have a child at one campus or multiple children in schools at the District.
Furthermore, mailing costs will be substantially reduced for the District as printing and mailing forms to parents and hiring staff to complete data entry will be eliminated. Completed forms are automatically integrated with the central Tyler Parent Portal Program and accessible to approved staff members.
For those families that may need access to a computer to access their Tyler Parent Portal for online registration, each school will have designated areas to assist families during school hours.
