(Laredo, Texas)-Centeno Elementary students, teachers and faculty became New Yorkers for a day when they staged their own Macy’s style Thanksgiving Day parade in the campus courtyard.
The colorful and creative costumes they wore were inspired by characters from storybooks that have been read by the students. Reader Bear from the Laredo Public Library drew cheers from the crowd, and the Books-a-Million store in Mall del Norte provided $5.00 gift cards for the top participants.
“We wish to thank Jessie Hernandez from Books –a-Million and the Laredo Public Library for helping us make this event a success”, said librarian Analine Johnson.
