(Laredo, Texas)-Laredo native Daniella Rodriguez, who is also the newly crowned Miss Texas, recently returned to her alma mater for a pep rally with her beloved United High School Longhorns. Ms. Rodriguez’ arrival at the campus gym was met with loud applause.
Rodriguez dropped by to talk about her educational journey and her experiences as Ms. Texas. She encouraged students to stay on a productive path and to believe in themselves. “ Ms. Rodriguez is an amazing young woman, and she represents the best of our state, our city, state, and high school.
“I’m glad she visited with the students because she is a positive influence and role model,” said UHS Principal Alberto Aleman.
Joining the reigning Ms. Texas was Webb County Sheriff Deputy Mario Reyes, who was promoting the Sheriff Departments’ most recent initiative. Known as, “Don’t Talk. Don’t Text. Just Drive,” the objective of the campaign is to remind motorists about the risks that are directly associated with texting while driving. Rounding out Ms. Texas’ visit was an appearance by local radio celebrity DJ, A-Train from R-Communications, who echoed Miss Texas and Deputy Reyes’ positive messages.
