(Laredo, Texas)-With a little help from their parents, a group of enterprising United Day School students sold lemonade during the summer. Their goal was to lend assistance to UISD and LISD students who are in need of school supplies. The students raised a total of $350.00, and each district received a check in the amount of $175.00. Mr. Tony Martinez, who has two students attending the school, worked with fellow parents to help launch the project.
“This group of students decided to sell lemonade in order to raise money for a good cause, and they chose to help other students with their school supplies”, said Martinez. UISD Superindendent Roberto J. Santos praised the students for their civic minded efforts and generous donation. “On behalf of our Board of Trustees, parents and students, we thank everyone at United Day School for reaching out to help other students in our community,” said Santos.
