Fasken Elementary Students Attend UT Open House in Austin

(Laredo, Tx)-On March 7, 1st-5th grade Gifted and Talented (G.T.) students from Fasken elementary attended the Explore UT 2015 open house at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. Explore UT 2015, also known as the “Biggest Open House in Texas,” is an opportunity for students of all ages to see what the University of Texas is all about.
The event welcomed students, teachers and families to see the University’s literary and art collections, experience its history and traditions, learn about its cutting-edge research, and interact with faculty members, staffers and students. More than 400 exhibitions and activities were presented. The program included a campus scavenger hunt, campus walking tours, a children’s international festival, marching with the Longhorn Band and special tours of the UT Tower. The annual open house seeks to motivate schoolchildren from all over the Texas to aspire to higher education.
