Borchers Elementary School Honors United States Veterans

(Laredo, Tx)-Veterans Day is a time to pay tribute to the men and women who have served in the U. S. Armed Forces. Parades, ceremonies, and patriotic assemblies mark the holiday. As such, Borchers Elementary staff and students organized an unforgettable program in homage to family members who have made sacrifices for our country. The campus thanks veterans for their patriotism, love of country, willingness to serve, and sacrifice for the common good.
Over eighty veterans were treated to breakfast in the school library, and then celebrated with a parade down the halls in route to the gym as students stood outside their classroom saluting and chanting USA! USA! The celebration continued in the gym with a Red, White and Blue Program organized Mr. Timothy Garza, Borchers Elementary Music Director.
The celebration lineup included performances by the 2nd and 3rd grade classes, Pee Wee Cheerleaders, the Award Winning Borchers’ Cheerleaders, and the school choir.
