Judge Ramiro Veliz Urges Regular Class Attendance

(Laredo, Tx)-On the morning of October 10, 2014, Judge Ramiro Veliz Jr. took time from his demanding schedule to talk to Los Obispos middle school students in the campus library. During the course of his 20 minute discussion,Veliz highlighted the importance of daily class attendance and detailed the consequences of tardiness and truancy. The judge also urged students to stay away from gangs and unlawful activities.
“Accept the responsibility to make good decisions for yourself and you will achieve great things”, said Veliz at the conclusion of his presentation. Los Obispos Attendance Officer Liza Gonzalez, who coordinates visits by the judge, said that his persuasive message always hits home with the students.
“This is the second year that Judge Veliz has come to our campus and for that we are greatly appreciative”, she added.
