(Laredo, Tx)-The Laredo Energy Arena will come to life Saturday, Aug. 23 with the “Magical Music of Disney” performed by the Laredo Phil. Tickets begin at $15 and doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. concert.
“This will be unlike anything experienced in Laredo before,” said Laredo Phil Music Director Brendan Townsend.
Ten of Disney’s most popular films are represented in the concert with visual enhancement. Behind the orchestra will be a giant screen displaying clips, photos and movie segments from the various films, Townsend said.
Designed to appeal to audiences of all ages, the music of such movies as “Mary Poppins,” “Mulan,” “The Lion King,” “Beauty & the Beast” and others will come to life.
Bands from area high schools will entertain the crowd before they enter the arena, Townsend said. Also, inside, there will be an opportunity for people to enter a drawing for a trip to Disney theme park, including a family four-pack trip to see these characters up close in person, he added.
Another unique feature will be an “Instrument Petting Zoo,” a chance for people of all ages to get to know various instruments that they have always been curious about.“Disney excites and stimulates the imagination in so many ways, and we are delighted to partner with the Laredo Phil to bring the music to Laredo,” added Anissa Trevino, LEA Director of Marketing.
