Webb County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Unit Seize More than $1.8M in Marijuana

Laredo, TX (Webb County) –A month-long investigation led the Webb County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Unit to close to 1,400 pounds of marijuana.
An anonymous tip to the Laredo CrimeStoppers hotline notified Narcotics Deputies that a home located in the 200 block of Middleston in North Laredo was being used to store large amounts of drugs. During the investigation, Sheriff’sdeputies, with the assistance of H.S.I. Special Agents, executed a search warrant Wednesday night. When deputies arrived,they found 61 bundles of marijuana weighing approximately 1,380 pounds inside a room.Also found in the home was an assault rifle, 2 rifle magazines and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The narcotics have an estimated street value of more than $1.83 million dollars.
The case remains under investigation.
