Clemente Camarillo Sworn in as UISD Police Chief

(Laredo, Tx)-United ISD is Proud to announce that is has a new top cop. Clemente Camarillo was sworn in as police chief on Monday, June 30 before District colleagues, honored guests and representatives from the Webb County law enforcement community. Camarillo previously served the District as Interim Chief of Police for the last calendar year. Webb County and Zapata’s District Attorney, Isidro “Chilo” Alaniz presided over the searing in ceremony, which took place at the SAC meeting room # 1. Camarillo has a long and distinguished history with the District, starting in the year 2000 when he began working as a police officer for the District and ascended to the rank of Captain in 2005.
In his new role as chief, Camarillo will direct 56 police officers, security officers and a command staff consisting of Sergeants and Lieutenants. Prior to working with UISD, Camarillo attended the Laredo Regional Police Academy in 1995, and worked with the Webb county Sheriff Department as chief of Security for the Webb County Justice Center. All of us know that Chief Camarillo’s knowledge, leadership and experience will further raise the bar in the UISDPolice Department and provide the utmost safety for our students and employees.
