Laredo, TX (Webb County) –Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies were on high alert Tuesday afternoon after receiving a Be On The Lookout (BOLO) alerting a man had kidnapped his wife and their two children from Kyle, Texas.
Around 2:30 pm Tuesday, a deputy patrolling Interstate 35 south near mile marker 22 spotted the 2007 Ford Explorer matching the description of the kidnapper’s vehicle. That’s when the deputy pulled the driver over and confirmed that Ramiro Garcia, 28, was the individual they were seeking. The BOLO noted that the suspect allegedly forced his wife, their two-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy into the vehicle. The report also stated that he threatened to kill one of them and was possibly headed into Mexico.
A Missing Persons report had been filed for the 27-year-old wife, she and her two children were found unharmed inside the vehicle. The victim told authorities it all started with a domestic violence incident.
“Being vigilant and alert is how our officers are trained,” said Sheriff Martin Cuellar. “I want to commend the deputies for preventing this kidnapping and keeping the family safe,” he added.
Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Garcia on kidnapping charges. The investigation is on-going.
