April’s One Class at a time award goes to…Cynthia Vega!

(Laredo, Tx)-Congratulations to Cynthia Vega, 5th Grade teacher at Trautmann Elementary (UISD) for being the recipient for April’s KGNS and Laredo Federal Credit Union “One Class at a time award.” The aspiration of this award is to promote education by honoring and encouraging teachers. Representatives of KGNS and Laredo Federal Credit Union were on hand to present Ms. Vega with a $500 dollar check. After presentation check was awarded to Ms. Vega’s class, she was asked what the money would be used for. With no hesitation her students chanted, “for books.” Her 5th grade class has finished reading a book titled Wonder, about bullying by R. J. Palazo. The class will write a sequel to the book and purchase the hard book binding with awarded money they received.
“It is a great honor to be presented with this award, reading is the root of education and I am a great advocate of reading, said Vega. She added, “We are finishing the last series of harry potter and as aclass we have achieved over 6,000 AR (Accelerated Reader) points.
