                                                                                 Nominations Currently Being Accepted

(Laredo, Tx)-Recognizing former graduates whose accomplishments are inspirational, is the goal of United Independent School District’s newest League of Legends program.  Nominations are currently being accepted for distinguished alumni from John B. Alexander, Lyndon B. Johnson, United and United South High Schools.

“The League of Legends Program will recognize exceptional United ISD graduates who have set themselves apart by making extraordinary contributions to the communities they serve,” said United ISD Superintendent Roberto J. Santos.

Anyone may nominate a United ISD high school graduate for this honor.  However, nominees must have graduated at least five years ago or more.  Additionally, nominees may live in Laredo or out of state town.

A nomination form must be filled out and is located on the District’s main website at www.uisd.net.  In addition to filling out the form, supporting documentation such as a resume, news articles, or any other information verifying a nominee’s achievements may be submitted.

“We know that we have so many former students who have gone on to do great things and we want to honor them with a special event to be held at their campus,” added Santos.

A special selection committee will consider nominees in the following areas:  outstanding service to country or community, career advancement, or philanthropy.  Additional information on each of these specific areas can be found on the nomination form.

Deadline for nomination forms is Feb. 24, 2014 and must be submitted to the Office of the Superintendent located at 201 Lindenwood Drive.  The District will select up to 10 individuals, to represent each high school campus, to receive this recognition.
