The United ISD Parent Festival is free and open to all United ISD parents. This year’s western –themed festival will have several information/resource booths set up by United ISD and community organizations. There will also be a wide range of presentations that will give parents valuable information about helping their children in the classroom and at home.
This year’s special guest speaker is Ronnie Cabrera, an English as a Second language (ESL) teacher and coach. The festival will also offer activity camps for children who are in attendance. Registration for the camps is on the day of the festival and space is limited, so parents are urged to arrive early.
The ultimate goal of the festival is to emphasize the importance of parental involvement and its positive impact on attendance, test scores, graduation rates, motivation and self-esteem
Th even will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at United High School 2811 United Ave.
