Laredo PD Makes 53 DWI Arrests

policeCourtesy Joe Baeza,

(Laredo, Tx)-The Laredo Police Department worked an Impaired Driver Mobilization grant that was been provided by the Texas Department of Transportation in which police officers were working overtime in enforcing DWI laws by locating and identifying intoxicated drivers.

The total number of arrests for DWI by Laredo PD during August 16, 2013 through September 02, 2013 was 53 total DWI arrests. The officers working the grant enforcement hours were responsible for 29 of those 53 arrests.  In addition the officers working grant hours made ten other arrests for things ranging from Racing, Reckless Driving, Outstanding Warrants, and some possessions of narcotics (individual amounts).

In Texas, the legal limit for intoxication is .08 BAC. If an officer thinks your driving is impaired, you can still be stopped and arrested for DWI regardless of your BAC. Penalties get worse with every DWI offense.
