Call Leads to Pot Bust

(Laredo, Tx)-On August 20th an anonymous caller called 911 dispatch that two suspicious vehicles were in the area of Bristol and Riverbank and that they were possibly loading narcotics into a car. One car was a green Pontiac and the other was a white Chrysler Sebring. Border Patrol Agents and LPD Officers arrived at the location and were able to locate the green Pontiac but no narcotics were found in it. Border Patrol units then located the white Sebring and a brief foot chase ensued. LPD Officers arrived at scene and assisted in the foot pursuit. An LPD officer caught up to one of the fleeing suspects.
The suspect resisted arrest and assaulted the officer. Other assisting Police units arrived and a total of 3 suspects were arrested and detained 3 large bundles totaling 221lbs of Marijuana with an approximate net worth of over $165,000 were located inside the white Sebring. LPD took over the case and arrested Edgar Rafael Juarez for Engaging in organized criminal activity F/1, Possession of Marijuana F/2, Assault on a P.O. F/3, Resisting Arrest C/A, and Evading arrest C/A.
Sergio Guadalupe Deleon-Somarriba was also arrested for Engaging in organized criminal activity F/1.
