(LAREDO, TX)- The United ISD Teacher Externship Program, coordinated through the Career and Technical Education Department, helps bridge the gap between the classroom and the “real world” by bringing teachers into the workplace for one week. Teachers then have the opportunity to incorporate their new-found knowledge and observations into lesson plans for their students for the upcoming school year.
The various Teacher Externship Sponsors were honored by the District’s CTE Department. Pictured at a recognition event were representatives from: various Departments at the City of Laredo, Judge Oscar Hale, Webb County Sheriff Office, Law Office of Amando Lopez, Texas Department of Agriculture, U.S. Border Patrol, Customs Border Protection, Laredo Federal Credit Union, Embassy Suites, South Texas Workforce Development Council, and Webb County Attorney’s Office.
