(Laredo, Tx)-City of Laredo celebrated the newest addition to its family of libraries with the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Lamar Bruni Vergara Inner City Branch Library, formerly the technical recreation center. With 48 computers, Internet access, over 6,500 books and magazines, computer classes, free WIFI, meeting rooms and story hours, this facility is a full service library.
“We are so thrilled to be able to provide library services to the citizens in this part of the city, especially for the children in this area,” said Mayor Pro Tempore Council Member Juan Narvaez, in whose district the project lies.
“We have many of the same programs and services as the main library. This summer promises to be an exciting one. We will be offering a full schedule of activities including the Summer Reading Club,” said Maria G. Soliz, director of the Laredo Public Library.
A unique feature of the branch library is its rock climbing wall.
