United Middle Student Selected To Play at Carnegie Hall

(Laredo, Tx)-Bravo! Bravo! Maureen Rendon, an eighth grade student at United Middle School , has been selected to play at the prestigious Carnegie Hall on December 22, 2013. The once in a lifetime opportunity came about when she entered the American Protégé International Competition, at the encouragement of her music teacher at the Laredo Music School . It was through this competition that Rendon was selected as one of the winners in the Finalist Division, from over 250 musicians from around the world. Rendon has been playing piano for 11 years and is looking forward to her big day in New York . She is the daughter of proud parents Sandra Madrigal and Miguel Rendon and has two older siblings, Sandra and Miguel.
