Check Mate: Trautmann Middle Brings Home Chess Honors

(Laredo, Tx)-The Trautmann Middle School “Mighty Shorthorn” Chess team recently competed in the Texas Scholastic Chess Championship in the Middle School Junior Varsity Division, Rated (600-900 Division) held in McAllen . The students did an outstanding job! They competed with teams of 10 plus more members and won the 18th place team trophy of which only the top 20 teams were awarded. Additionally, Joseph McCarthy placed 4th Individual in the State Middle School , Junior Varsity Division (Rated 600-900).
