United I.S.D. Notice of Holiday Break

(Laredo, Tx)- Due to the upcoming holiday, all United Independent School District campuses and administrative departments will be closed on Friday, March 29, 2013. The UISD Tax Office, located at 3501 E. Saunders, will also be closed on this day. However, taxes may be paid online at www.uisd.net.
All UISD campuses and departments will resume their regular schedule on Monday, April 1, 2013.
It is important to note that when students return to class, STAAR tests will be administered to 4th grade, 5th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade and high school students in the following subject areas:

April 1 STAAR – English I Writing/English III Writing
April 2 STAAR – Grade 4 & 7 Writing Day 1
STAAR – Grade 5 & 8 Math
STAAR – English I & III Reading
April 3 STAAR – Grade 4 & 7 Writing Day 2
STAAR – Grade 5 & 8 Reading
STAAR – English II Writing
April 4 STAAR – English II Reading
As such, it is imperative that all students return to school on time and prepared for class, especially those who will be taking these important exams.
