UISD Helps South Texas Food Bank

(Laredo, Tx)-THANKS JULIUS FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE: Nye Elementary kinder student Julius Luna, pictured here, was one of the first students at his campus to donate to the South Texas Food Bank. In honor of National School Breakfast Week (March 4-8, 2013) the United Independent School District Food Service Department is collecting funds for the local food bank that will used to help provide meals to families in need. Students and employees may drop off their donations to the cafeteria managers at each elementary cafeteria during their breakfast and lunch periods. Pictured with Julius is Aryana M. Valdez, UISD Food Service Department Operations Manager. The collection drive at the campuses will take place all this week. In addition to helping out the food bank, the collection drive teaches all an important lesson of helping others who are less fortunate.
