UISD Coaches Take Great Pride In Former Student and Former Player, Now With the South Texas Revolution Team

(Laredo, Tx)- South Texas Revolution basketball player, Kurt Kuriata, (middle) stands with his former coaches, Abe Rubio and Douglas Gates, at Gutierrez Elementary School where the team made an appearance this morning. Rubio and Gates were actually Kuriata’s coaches when he was a student at Trautmann Middle and he says both of them have been mentors to him over the years. Kuriata, is a proud 2011 graduate of United High School , who also played on the school’s basketball and football teams. His sister, Kimberly, is a student at United High School and currently plays on the school’s basketball team. Kuriata encourages all to go out and support the new South Texas Revolution Basketball Team at their first game this Sunday. It will be held at Texas A&M International University , and they will play Twin Cities United, another team from Texas with the American Basketball League.
