(Laredo, Tx)-“I HAVE A DREAM!” Maricela L. Castillo, kinder teacher at Gutierrez Elementary School teaches students a lesson about one of America ’s most influential figures, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. To add to the lesson, Castillo read A Picture Book of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by David A. Adler to her very interested and curious students. Pictured with Castillo are kinder students, from left to right: Luis Angel Rios, Edith Martinez, and Andrea Martinez. King’s powerful “I have a dream” speech was given on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. August 28, 1963. He won the Nobel Peace prize in 1964.
