Courtesy Xochitl Mora,
Laredo, TX –Spay and neuter (SN) services were provided to over 300 pets as well as vaccinated and registered during the Emergency SN Clinics during the month of November and December.
The City of Laredo officials and pet stakeholder groups will sponsor an additional Spay and Neuter service on Saturday February 2, 2013 to continue to address the urgent pet overpopulation leading to strays, unwanted pets and potentially the risk of rabies.
We urge the public to take advantage of these clinics and call the City of Laredo Health Department or the Laredo Animal Protective Society for an appointment. To properly care for our pets, we need to vaccinate them against rabies and we need to SN them to address the serious stray and overpopulation problem. Only after SN can pets get adopted. SN will encourage pet parents to provide pets with a home forever.
The clinic is for MALE DOGS ONLY and will take place on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Laredo Animal Protective Society, 2500 Gonzalez Street. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the clinic will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The cost is $10.00 and all proceeds will be used for additional SN clinics. Registration and microchip will also be provided for $15.00. Persons must bring certificate of vaccination for their pet(s). Additional vaccinations will be available upon request for an additional cost. Pet should not consume food twelve (12) hours prior to the procedure.
