The object of playing the game is really quite simple, but mastering this game is a totally different story. We’re talking about the game of chess!
And for any student in 3rd through 8th grade interested in playing the game or learning new strategies, the upcoming Chess Camp to be hosted by the United South High School Chess Club may be just for you.
The USHS chess camp will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the United South High School Cafeteria located at 4001 Ave. Los Presidentes. The fee is only $6.00 per child. The sessions will be conducted by United South High School Chess Club members and chess training materials will be provided.
Chess camp organizers say that the game of chess helps to develop a child’s critical thinking skills, confidence, patience, memory, logic, and problem solving skills among other benefits for students.
