Let’s Move for Scholars Event–Run, Walk, Health Fair and Zumbathon!!!

(Laredo, Tx)-The 2nd Annual “Let’s Move for Scholars” 5K Run and Walk will include a free zumbathon and health fair to all who register. Pictured are event zumbathon coordinators Ana Rodriguez and Sonia Martinez who help warm up UISD employees at a recent press conference announcement for the upcoming event. The 5K Run or Walk will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Bill Johnson Student Activity Complex Stadium located at 5208 Santa Claudia Lane (off of Hwy 359). On-site registration will be held between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event but organizers are strongly encouraging early registration which will be held from now until December 14, 2012.
An early registration form can be found on the UISD website at www.uisd.net and by clicking on the “Let’s Move for Scholars” icon. For only $25.00 participants will receive a t-shirt, a certificate, and a medal/trophy will be awarded to division winners. The cost for UISD students is $15.00. Male and female participants will be organized as per the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. All proceeds from the “Let’s Move for Scholars” Benefit 5K Run or Walk event will be administered by the Guidance and Counseling Department and will benefit eligible students from each of United ISD’s four high schools.
