Council Member Garza’s Annual Christmas Shopping Spree for Children in District I

(Laredo, Tx)-This past Saturday, December 15, 2012, Cm. Garza, with assistance from sponsors Wal-mart, Crane Engineering, Dannenbaum Engineering Company, LNV, Southern Sanitation, Zertuche Construction, NRP, UETA and Webb County Attorney-Elect Marco Montemayor, who joined Cm. Garza, hosted his seventh annual Christmas Shopping Spree at Walmart for children in District I.
Approximately 80 families were a part of the shopping event. All the children received goodie bags and cupcakes and juices provided by Walmart and all of the parents were very appreciative of this extra assistance for Christmas, and were happy to meet with their council member.
Selected by counselors in the UISD schools in his district, students are able to purchase shoes and a jacket for the holidays.
Earlier this year, he helped students at the beginning of the school year with a shopping spree for school uniforms.
