Gilpin Honored as “Tejano Achiever” by Lulac Council No. 12

United Independent School District Board of Trustee President Judd Gilpin was recently honored by Lulac Council No.12 during their “Tejano Achievers” event held at the Laredo Country Club.  Gilpin was honored for his service to public education.  Pictured from left to right is Amando Chapa, Tejano Achievers Awards Committee Co-Chairman; honoree Gilpin; and Javier Santos, Trustee for the Fernando A. Salinas Charitable Trust. Gilpin has been on the UISD Board of Trustees since 2008.  

He is a graduate of United High School and obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Engineering from Texas A&M University and has his own engineering firm.  His wife, Lulu Ramirez Gilpin, and his mother Vita Gilpin are proud educators.  Gilpin would like to thank Lulac Council No. 12 for bestowing this great honor upon him.
