Rabies “Vacuna” Clinics are BACK!

Courtesy Xochitl Mora,

Laredo, TX – The City of Laredo Health Department (CLHD) wants to remind the public many pets remain unvaccinated for rabies. This puts the public at risk of a very serious potentially mortal disease for humans and pets. We urge everyone to vaccinate their pets as soon as possible, either at their veterinarian’s office or at the Health Department.  In addition we remind everyone that pets by city ordinance must be registered through microchip.

“If you microchip at your private veterinarian you must come to the health department to register. The application however is online and you can simply download it, fill it out and mail the form, a copy of your rabies vaccination certificate and $5, you don’t have to come to the office, it’s very simple” said Dr. Hector F. Gonzalez Director of Health.

We are re-initiating our Rabies Clinics for October as we had stopped in July due to the heat.

Clinics will be held on October 3, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m   2200 Zacatecas, and October 17,  2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at  2600 Cedar, Laredo, TX.

The cost for pet rabies vaccination is $12.00.
Distemper/Parvo shots available upon request.
