Laredo Public Library; “One City, One Book FIRST Discussion”

The first One City, One Book group discussion of the book, “Prisoner of Tehran,” by Marina Nemat will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2012, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Laredo Public Library 1st Floor Conference Room, 1120 E. Calton Road. The book is a memoir of Nemat’s life as a young girl in Iran who is imprisoned and forced to convert from Catholicism to Islam and marry her captor in order to save her family.
Show up and share your reaction to this powerful story. The book is available in English and can be checked out at the Laredo Public Library or purchased at Books-A-Million. The author will be in Laredo for a presentation of her book on Saturday, October 6, 2012.
