Great American Cookies® Thanks Laredo Customers for 35 Great Years!

Largest Cookie Cake in Laredo’s history will be on display; slices given away for $1 donation to the South Texas Food Bank, fun activities throughout the day
As part of a nationwide 35th anniversary celebration, the Great American Cookies at Mall del Norte, 5300 San Dario Avenue, is thanking Laredo customers for more than three decades of fun and delicious cookies with a special event.
On Saturday, August 11, 2012, from 10 AM – to 1 PM, at the Great American Cookie location in the Macy’s Center Court, customers are invited to sample Great American Cookie’s signature cookie cake, the product that made Great American Cookies an international phenomenon. During the event, Great American Cookies will unveil and serve slices from a custom “Thank You!” 180-square foot Super Cookie Cake created just for Laredo area customers, the largest cookie cake ever made in Laredo history. This special “Thank You!” Super Cookie Cake will be made up of 40 individual cookie cakes and measure 11 feet by 15 feet. It will take approximately 10 hours to bake and decorate. It will contain 150 pounds of batter, 208,000 chocolate chips, and 50 pounds of icing.
The giant cookie slices will be sold for $1 donation to the South Texas Food Bank with other fun activities including games and mascots just for Laredo area customers taking place throughout the day.
Beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 10:35 a.m., customers are invited to enjoy 35 cent cookies; at 11:00 a.m., the Great American Cookies mascot Cookie Man will make his appearance, distributing special coupon deals along with the Super Cookie Cake. The Webb County Sheriff’s Department will be on hand, as well, taking kids’ photos for an identity kit.
