Canal Street Drainage Improvement Project to Cause Traffic Detours Along McPherson Avenue

REIM Construction will be detouring traffic along McPherson Avenue, between Chaparral Street and Taylor Street, starting at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. This street closure will impact the center turning lane and the two northbound lanes. The two southbound lanes on the west side of McPherson Avenue will be changed to only one northbound traveling lane and only one southbound traveling lane.
The contractor is working on the drainage system that includes 10′ x 5′ precast concrete box culverts that greatly improve the drainage infrastructure in the area and also includes the construction of a sanitary sewer line in a steel casing.
The project is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete.
Motorists are urged to find alternate routes, but if traveling in the area to please drive with extreme caution and observe & obey all traffic control and detour signs for their safety and the safety of the construction crews working on this very important project.
