Webb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division Makes Arrest on 2 Counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault

 (Laredo, Texas) Webb County – On Saturday, June 16, 2012 at approximately 11:00am, the Webb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigators conducted an investigation in relation to a sexual assault complaint that led to the arrest of one male subject Paul Glenn Wooten, 26 years of age. 

 Wooten was charged with two (2) counts of aggravated sexual assault, a felony 1 offense for sexually assaulting a victim who was younger than 14 years of age.  Wooten was transported to the Webb County Jail in lieu of no bond. 

 “In cases such as this one it is imperative that our investigators act swiftly.  I commend them on bringing this subject into custody promptly so that he may face his day in court,” stated Sheriff Martin Cuellar.

 At this time we are unable to release any further information due to the sensitivity of the case.

 The Webb County Sheriff’s Office Crime Victims Unit is available to anyone who has been a victim of a crime.  Victims may qualify for assistance for medical expenses and other compensations through the State of Texas Attorney General’s Office.  For more information contact 718-8084.
