Laredo, Texas (Webb County) after receiving a number of calls from concerned citizens about the recent increased levels of heroin being seized within our community, the Webb County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit plans to work hard in keeping the children of the community safe during these next summer days. In this effort, the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit along with the Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) executed a search warrant at a home located on 3900 Barcelona where 2.5 grams of heroin was found along with (1) plastic spoon with residue and (11) used syringes. At the scene, Deputies placed Roberto Perales age 30 under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance F/3 and was transported to the Webb County Jail in lieu of no bond.
“These items found in this home were doomed to reach the community. During these summer months parents need to encourage their children to be part of activities that are geared towards education and safety,” stated Sheriff Cuellar.
The Webb County Sheriff’s Office encourages the public to call with any suspicion of illegal activity to the Crime Stoppers TIPS line at 727-TIPS. Tips that lead to an arrest may qualify for a cash reward.
