Keeping his constituents informed about ongoing projects that affect his district is very important for City of Laredo District VII Council Member Jorge Vera.  For this reason, Cm. Vera will hold a town hall meeting to discuss neighborhood issues brought up by residents, district-wide.  This meeting will also provide an ideal opportunity to welcome new members of the district into the family and encourage open dialogue.  The meeting will be held at on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Washington Middle School cafeteria and gym, located at 10306 River Bank Drive, starting at 6:00 p.m.  Residents of the neighborhood, as well as the entire district, are invited to attend.

“As council member for this district, I promise to continue working to improving all neighborhoods of our district,” said Cm. Vera.  “Residents of my district are the best source of information on what to tackle next; I welcome their comments and suggestions.  This meeting will allow us to update the community about ongoing municipal projects and respond appropriately to any issues of concern in an effort to better serve the district residents.”

Also joining Cm. Vera at the meeting will be staff and directors from several City of Laredo departments, including: Bridge; Community Development; Engineering; Environmental Services; Health; Parks & Recreation; Police; Traffic; and City Manager’s Office.
