Earlier this month, 4-Time All-Star and World Champion San Antonio Spurs Point Guard Tony Parker recently hosted, along with his brothers T.J. and Pierre, a basketball skills camp for young Laredoans, to help promote their basketball skills to mirror the European style of the fast-paced, skilled game. Hundreds of kids came out to learn from Parker and Co., as well as take photos and get autographed memorabilia. The kids – and parents – to say the least, were thrilled to have the fan favorite in their midst. Parker, for his part, was overwhelmed with the hospitality, generosity and affection he, and his crew, received while here in Laredo and has vowed to repeat the basketball skills clinic and come back to Laredo again.
Mayor Salinas presented Tony Parker with items to remind the Frenchman of Laredo and thanking him for coming down to Laredo.
