JDRF 2012 Walk to Cure Diabetes

It’s time to get ready to help Laredo’s Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Rock the Cure at their 2012 Walk to Cure Diabetes event on Saturday, April 14, 2012, starting at 8:00 a.m. at Texas A&M International University. Douglas Gonzalez, HEB’s Director of Retail Operation for the Southwest is the 2012 Walk Chair and he will be joined by some very special Family Team Chairs and Walk Ambassadors: local kids who are living with Type I Diabetes.
The 5K Walk is the easiest way for anyone in the community to help raise funds for this worthy cause. People can register on their own or as a team at www.walk.jdrf.org or at TAMIU-Student Center the day of the walk. The Walk begins at 9:00 a.m. and participants simply walk and collect pledges for the cause. There will be entertainment, Children’s Corner, Team T-shirt contest and other festivities during the event.
