TACVB will convene for three days of educational meetings focusing on Administration, Group Sales, Group Servicing, Tourism Sales, Communications/ Technology, Marketing and Visitor Services.

Now the largest statewide organization of Convention & Visitors Bureau professionals in the world, TACVB was organized in July 1972 for the purpose of providing cooperative action to enhance and encourage the growth of the convention and visitor industry in Texas.

“Hosting the Texas Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus is a big deal for our city.  It represents the return of state association business to Laredo, which in turns allows us to tell others that the City of Laredo hosted such a well known association, helping us to attract other state-wide groups and convention,” stated Blasita J. Lopez, Laredo CVB director.  “I am excited to welcome my peers in the industry and to host this all important continuing education opportunity for professionals in the destination marketing industry.”

The TACVB Board of Directors will meet on Monday afternoon. Training sessions begin Tuesday morning.  Delegates will take part individually in evening social activities to take in the sights and sounds of Laredo. The conference concludes Wednesday at noon with an awards luncheon. The conference will generate more than $45,000 into the Laredo economy.
