TAMIU to Recognize LISD, UISD Seniors Accepted for Fall Semester

(Laredo, Tx)-A select group of Laredo Independent School District and United Independent School District students will soon be tapping into the power of higher education at Texas A&M International University. This diverse group of representative high school seniors from both local districts have been accepted to TAMIU and will be recognized at ceremonies at LISD and UISD.
District Superintendents Dr. Marcus Nelson (LISD) and Roberto J. Santos (UISD) will join TAMIU President Ray Keck and other University officials to help students celebrate their acceptance and their decision to realize their imagined possibilities at TAMIU, one of Texas’ fastest growing regional universities that’s been cited by CNN as one of the nation’s most affordable.
As part of the Celebration, 1,500 selected students will receive specially designed “Powered by TAMIU” T-shirts signifying their acceptance and featuring their home high school. “Powered by TAMIU,” the University’s identity campaign launched last August, communicates the power of higher education at TAMIU.
The event will take place today with the LISD Recognition, starting at 11 a.m., at the LISD Board Room the UISD Recognition, will be at 2 p.m., at the LBJ High School Library.
