Mayor Salinas to award Certificate of Recognition for young scribe
Courtesy Xochitl Mora,
Young A.J. Mayers moved to California after high school graduation, working for movie companies while working on his writing. His first novel, “Among Us,” is a science-fiction thriller mystery, which will engross the reader with trying to figure out the clues about the aliens who live on Earth, and the government agency willing to committ murder to keep it a secret.
Mayers will be on hand for a reception in his honor, where copies of the book will be sold and he will be available for autographs and to discuss the book, as well as the next one he is working on. Additionally, Mayor Salinas will be on hand to award the author for his accomplishment and for representing Laredo so well, even so far from home.
The community is invited to come meet the author, get a copy of the book and find out more about those “Among Us.”
The event will take place on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at La Reserva, 107 Calle Del Norte starting at 6p.m.
