(Laredo, Tx)-The Vidal M. Treviño School of Communications & Fine Arts invites the community to the 18th Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival. The festival will take place today, at St. Peter’s Plaza in downtown Laredo from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00p.m.
Dr. Martha Villarreal, the director of the VMT Magnet School, said this year’s festival will honor the late Eddie Galvan, one of the school’s first music directors and mentor, who left his indelible mark at VMT. “Come hear the music of Soundtown, in which he had a big part in developing here at VMT and other great musical and dance groups.
The Hispanic Festival features live performances from VMT students, including
outstanding musicians, artists, dancers and student speakers and technicians. “Come see our district’s talented students perform and celebrate our wonderful and unique culture. We will have great food, fantastic entertainment, games, good company and lots of cheer. “Aqui los esperamos!!” Villarreal added.
