Sheriff’s Deputies Intercept Marijuana Package

Laredo, Texas (Webb County) – On Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at approximately 4:15 p.m. the Webb County Sheriff’s Office narcotics team followed up with an ongoing investigation at the 7500 block of San Dario. Upon arrival, Deputies noticed three suspects attempted to drop off a large package at a local business and immediately intercepted the package. The package contained 12.5 pounds of marijuana at an approximated street value $6,325.
All three subjects were arrested, Manuel Garza, 29 years of age, Jorge Sanchez, 42 years of age, and Juan Francisco Luna, 28 years of age. They were charged with possession of marijuana, felony 3 and engaging in organized criminal activity felony 2.
“Our Deputies continue to patrol our neighborhoods and highways. However, I would like to remind the business district that we have a commitment to keep organized criminal activity away from their establishments”. Stated Sheriff Martin Cuellar.
