(Laredo, Texas)- With five games remaining in the Premier Development League (PDL) regular season for the Laredo Heat (8 – 3 – 0, 24 points), the time to finish strong is here.  The New Orleans Jesters (6 – 4 – 0, 18 points), who are currently sitting in third place behind the Heat, will be visiting the Gateway City on Friday, July 1, 2011 to battle the hometown team at the Texas A&M International University Soccer Complex.

This critical PDL Mid-South Division contest is set to kick-off at 8:00 PM.

Both New Orleans and Laredo are looking up in the division standings to current leader Chivas El Paso Patriots (8 – 3 – 2, 26 points) and a win on Friday for either team will go a long way to determine playoff positioning in the Mid-South Division of the Southern Conference.

New Orleans is coming to Laredo off a tough loss on the road on Wednesday, June 29th in Baton Rouge. The Jesters dropped a 1 – 0 contest to the Capitals at Christian Life Academy Stadium in the Louisiana Capital.

This is the only visit to Laredo by New Orleans this season. The team is led by longtime Head Coach Kenny Farrell and earlier this season in May, both of these teams hooked up in New Orleans with the Heat taking the contest by a score of 3 – 1 at Pan American Stadium.

Heat Head Coach Israel Collazo is aware that his team cannot expect a walk in the park versus New Orleans simply because of the outcome in New Orleans in May, “Myself and the team are fully aware that when we played the Jesters earlier this season, they were just starting off and only had a few games under their belt as a team but I have personally noticed that they have strung together a few wins and are now within striking distance of both El Paso and us”, mentioned Collazo.
